Virtuoso Traveler - June/July 2017 - 20
An American college student finds her wings while studying in Europe.
IN THE MOMENT
"I've never felt more weightless
or thrilled in my life," says Denver,
Colorado, native Nikki Naiman of her
paragliding exploit over Interlaken,
Switzerland. "The whole experience
of studying abroad made me more
adventurous, and I'm so glad I was
brave enough to try paragliding, because I loved it."
After finishing a semester in Florence, Italy, Naiman joined her mom
on a ten-day tour through Switzerland, France, and the Netherlands
crafted by Virtuoso travel advisor
Kayla Zeigler of Columbus, Ohio.
"Kayla has planned several vacations
for my family, and every one of them
has been fantastic," says Naiman.
"This trip was so incredible, because
it was just my mom and me traveling to places that looked like we'd
walked into a photograph."
While Naiman doesn't have any travels
planned for the immediate future,
Europe definitely left a lasting impression. "I'd love to visit Spain, Portugal,
and Greece, or even return to Switzerland - it's the most beautiful place I've
ever seen," she says.
ART OF TRAVEL
Three titles for creative exploration.
"Consider bringing an
action camera [such as a
GoPro] on your next adventure. They're small and highdef, and can be mounted to
all kinds of equipment."
