Hanging around on
Koh Kood, Thailand.
"There are so many benefits
to visiting a place during the
shoulder season or off-season.
Sure, it might be rainy or colder,
but with fewer tourists, you get
the chance to have wonderful
interactions and see destinations
in a different light."

IN THE MOMENT
Whenever Brookfield, Wisconsinbased traveler Jessica Kirchoff visits
a country for a second (or third, or
fourth) time, she always seeks out
places that are well-kept secrets. "My
husband took this photo of me one
morning on Koh Kood, Thailand," she
says. "I was feeling serene, all alone
on a beautiful beach in the shadow of
a single palm tree" on this unspoiled
island in the country's far south.
Jessica and her husband, Nate,
journeyed to Myanmar, Cambodia,
Nepal, and Thailand on a 2017 tour
planned with expert guidance from

times we vacation in Thailand, we're

of the culture, the spiciness of the
food, and the kindness of the smiling
locals," says Jessica.
