Window to Paradise
Los Cabos, comprising Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, is a dreamy,
tranquil Mexican resort destination located on the southern tip of the Baja
California peninsula. Here, stark desert landscape meets bright blue crashing
water - and rain falls just six or seven days a year. It attracts an endless parade of
celebrities, as it's a quick flight from Los Angeles.
Cabo San Lucas is a lively town located next to the main marina. Travelers board
boats to get up close to iconic El Arco (The Arch), which marks Land's End, where
the Sea of Cortez and Pacific Ocean meet.
San José del Cabo, 30 minutes away, is a tranquil haven of Mexican art and
colonial architecture. Hungry visitors will find both traditional Mexican dishes and
globally inspired offerings, like sushi at Nick-San. Caesar salad is said to have
originated in Tijuana, in Baja California - and local Cabo restaurant Edith's is
famous for its version, artfully tossed tableside in a house-made dressing.
