The Oak Room is, once again. The 1907 Manhattan classic has reopened at The Plaza Hotel with its signature wood paneling and barrel-vaulted ceiling that pay homage to its origins as a men’s club. Chef Joël Antunes matches the setting with seasonal American fare such as Nantucket Bay scallops with corn chowder. 10 Central Park South, 212/758-7777. Many are familiar with Alexander Calder’s abstract mobiles and outsize sculptures, but two concurrent New York exhibits illuminate the American artist’s more intimate side. Calder Jewelry at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (through March 1) assembles nearly 100 bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and more using found materials such as beach glass.
