ART & CULTURE
From California swimming pools rendered in acrylic to contemporary creations made on iPads, the recently opened David Hockney is the summer's most
anticipated exhibit at the Centre Pompidou in Paris (through October 23). The
chronologically complete show ranges from Hockney's expressionistic art
school efforts through his outsize 1960s portraits and the luminous digital
landscapes he presently produces. After its stop in Paris, the retrospective
travels to New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art for a November through
February run. centrepompidou.fr.
