In 2016, Virtuoso travel agency owners Roman
Chiporukha and Erica Jackowitz launched Dare
to Dream NYC, a travel-writing contest for high
school students that aims to give back and
inspire the next generation of travelers. Yumna
Ahmed Qazi, then a senior at Midwood High
School in Brooklyn, penned the winning essay,
detailing her dream of a trip to Alaska.
"The increase in fearmongering has stopped
many from traveling, and I think now, more than

vastly different lifestyles it has to offer," she wrote.
In honor of her win, Yumna and her 26-year-old
brother, Zohaib, received an all-expenses-paid

"I did things that some people would never be

trip blog. "I most certainly have plans to travel
