SOUTHERN VIRGINIA

sOUTHEr

Separating Virginia from North Carolina is the Southern region,
often called Virginia's Racing Region, because it is home to six
speedways and raceways. With plenty to offer devoted race
fans, the Southern region also has an abundance of activities for
those who want to veer off the tracks. With its lively American
Main Street communities, local culinary scene and a plethora of
outdoor activities, Southern Virginia offers travelers the chance
to immerse themselves in the heart of the region's distinctive
culture. The Tobacco Heritage Trail, a proposed 174-mile trail
which links small towns throughout the region, allows travelers
to explore the great outdoors on horse, bicycle, or foot. For
those who prefer wine with their trail experience, the Southern
Virginia Wine Trail (SoVa for short) is an excellent place to start.
