The libretto and the music conjure up a particularly exotic locale: ancient Ceylon, where the priestess Leïla is loved by both the fisherman Nadir and Zurga, king of the pearl fishers. The exhibition is timed to coincide with the 2008 presidential election, noting the 20th-century history of using the poster and print as a vehicle for social advocacy and propaganda.
