Guests can explore the legendary U-505, a German submarine captured on the high seas during World War II — now indoors in a new 35,000-square-foot exhibit; take off on an authentic Boeing 727 airplane for a simulated cross-country flight; descend down a mineshaft for a tour of a realistic Illinois coal mine; witness 12 robots at work in a real toy factory; or take in a thrilling movie at the five-story Omnimax® theater. Live demonstrations, costumed exhibit interpreters, ground-breaking temporary exhibits and special programming bring the wonders of the Museum to life for all ages. Regular Museum hours are Mon.–Sat. 9:30am–4pm. Sun. 11am–4pm. Extended hours, until 5:30pm each day, will be offered from May 24 to Sept. 1. General admission to the Museum is: $13 for adults; $12 for seniors and $9 for children 3–11. City of Chicago residents receive a discount.
