Taking a walking tour of native son Dale Chihuly’s glass installations throughout the city (offered by the Tacoma Art Museum). Visiting Point Defiance Park, which features old-growth forest, beaches, a zoo and an aquarium. With its revitalization, downtown Tacoma is a great place to bring children. Kids will love the Tacoma Children’s Museum, the free Lego play area at City Blocks Studio and racing slot cars on the track at slotkar.com. The Royal London Wax Museum. High tea at the historic Fairmont Empress hotel. Boutiques filled with local designers’ wares on Johnson St. and Trounce Alley. VICTORIA, B.C. Many farms along the way to the falls allow you to pick your own strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. There’s almost always a festival going on in Leavenworth! Join the locals as they celebrate accordions, beer, birds and everything in between. Miniature World might sound like a tourist trap, but its displays of tiny dolls, spaceships and other detailed objects wow visitors of all ages.
