DISTRIBUTED ANTENNA SYSTEMS New DAS Antennas Support LTE Performance for 700 MHz And AWS Frequencies NEW PRODUCTS & SERVICES “FlexWave Prism DAS makes it easy and cost-effective to cover large indoor areas like the Inorbit mall,” said Chris Jurasek, vice president and general manager, of the TE Wireless and SerPhazar Antenna Corp. has introduced several new DAS an- vices business unit. “With just a few remote antenna units, we tennas that provide coverage for multiple frequencies for 700 can cover a large area with high capacity and consistent signal MHz, 850 MHz, AWS and PCS bands, and were designed to strength to ensure that visitors have a positive experience with be able to support LTE technology for both 700 MHz and AWS their mobile devices.” frequencies. The new antennas will provide DAS (Distributed Mr. Kishore Bhatija, CEO, Inorbit Malls, said, “It has been our Antenna Systems) “neutral hosts” and carriers more options for constant endeavor to make Inorbit a complete shopping destinacovering all of the current frequencies used for mobile commu- tion. A new Quad antenna will combine four antennas covering 698 to 896 MHz and 1,710 to 2,155 MHz in one single radome in order to satisfy the frequencies that all of the carriers use for mobile communication services. The new antenna utilizes staggered antennas inside the radome in order to provide a minimum of four Lambda separation between the 700 MHz antennas and the AWS antennas. A unique PCB design for all four antennas also allows Phazar to use state of the art materials for improved PIM performance. Four DIN 7/16 connectors are also provided to maximize performance. The antennas were designed to be able to be used on utility poles, street lights, and monopoles or on building sites to bring the antennas closer to the user and complement the macro-cell sites already established. C TE Connectivity Deploys Distributed Antenna System for Inorbit Mall M Y TE Connectivity’s (TE) FlexWave Prism distributed antenna system (DAS) has been deployed to cover the Inorbit Mall in Hyderabad, India. The FlexWave Prism DAS provides uniform coverage and capacity throughout the 1.6 million square foot property, and delivers services for three major mobile operators. The new DAS supports four frequencies to deliver both 2G and 3G services within the mall. One of India’s leading neutral host, in-building solutions providers, Global Rural Netco, Limited (GRNL), a part of the Global Group of companies, did the design, deployment and selected the FlexWave Prism DAS as the preferred solution. “With such a large area to cover we wanted to avoid long runs of coaxial cable where we would lose signal strength over the distance of the run,” said Kumar Chakravarthy, president, Sales at GRNL. “The active FlexWave Prism DAS ensured that the system would deliver maximum power at every antenna point for multiple operators, and it could be deployed utilizing a single equipment room and thus took up less space.” CM MY CY CMY K WWW.ANTENNASONLINE.COM WINTER 2011 ANTENNA SYSTEMS & TECHNOLOGY 17 http://www.natehome.com http://www.natehome.com http://WWW.ANTENNASONLINE.COM
