TEST & MEASUREMENT NEW PRODUCTS & SERVICES New Software Offers Comprehensive Transmitter Test Support for USB 3.1 Type-C Specification Keysight Technologies, Inc. has introduced the U7243B USB 3.1 transmitter performance validation and compliance test software, the most comprehensive transmitter (TX) test support for the USB 3.1 Type-C specification. The test software allows authorized test centers to test USB 3.1 Gen2 SuperSpeed Plus 10 Gbps devices with Type-C implementations and gives in-house test and performance validation engineers the tools to ensure devices comply with the USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C specification. The Keysight USB 3.1 solution provides accurate test results to reduce development costs and simplify measurement processes for test engineers in the consumer electronics, cable manufacturing and semiconductor industries. The test software operates on Keysight's Infiniium V-series and Z-series real-time oscilloscopes with bandwidths of 16 GHz and higher. Engineers can access the test signals using the N7015A Type-C high-speed test fixture and controlled with the N7016A Type-C low-speed signal access and control fixture. "Keysight actively supports the USB-IF and USB implementers by providing early access to measurement solutions and actively supporting compliance workshops," said Dave Cipriani, vice president and general manager of Keysight's oscilloscope business. "With the roll out of Type-C and the Gen2 link partner requirements, Keysight provides essential software tools to the USB-IF testing and certification program to ensure a satisfying user interoperability experience." Engineers can use this solution with the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) approved fixtures or Keysight's N7015A and N7016A Type-C test fixtures. The U7243B USB 3.1 transmitter performance validation and compliance test software is available now and priced at $16,000. PCTEL Introduces Spectrum Analyzer Functionality for IBflex PCTEL, Inc. hasvreleased of its Signal Analyzer (SA) option. The SA option is an alternative to traditional spectrum analyzers. It converts a PCTEL SeeGull IBscanning receiver into an all-purpose portable signal analysis tool. The SA facilitates DAS verification and commissioning applications as well as most field engineering tasks. "RF engineers that already rely on a scanning receiver for data collection now have access to a cost-effective tool that performs all of the familiar functions of a spectrum analyzer," said David Neumann, PCTEL's Senior Vice President and General Manager, RF Solutions. "By using the Signal Analyzer option instead of a separate unit, our customers will minimize hardware costs and complexities." The SA features an intuitive tablet interface based on PCTEL's SeeHawk Touch software. The software operates on commercial tablets and receives data from the IBflex via Bluetooth.
