Components Battery Holder for Lithium CR2 Cells MPD has introduced a new battery holder that accepts a lithium CR2 battery. The part number for the holder is BH-CR2PC. CR2 batteries are offered in both standard 3 V lithium (925 mAh) and rechargeable, 3.6 V Li-Ion chemistries (900 mAh). Li-Ion batteries reduce the quantity of cell introduced into the waste stream. A common battery type in cameras and photographic equipment with low cost and its wide distribution assures availability worldwide. The BH-CR2-PC has two large nickel plated stainless steel pressure contacts with PC pin blades that are extra wide. These sturdy contacts make the holder suitable for applications that require a pulse or burst of energy to flow through them quickly. Offering low resistance and designed to keep a tight connection with the cell means a long term trouble free connection. The glass filled plastic body meets UL94V-0 flammability standards. Weighing 5.2 grams, the holder is under 36 mm by 17 mm by 16 mm. Featuring two recessed mounting holes for hard mounting with screws or common eyelets. Soldering the two PC pins in some applications will be sufficient for mounting the holder and thereby save time, labor and material costs. Flux Power Introduces Lithium Battery Upgrade Kit For Polaris Ranger EV Flux Power has introduced a lithium battery upgrade kit for the EV ATV market that lasts up to 10 years or up to 3,000 cycles. This Flux Power kit is targeted at customers wanting better performance from their existing Polaris Ranger EV ATVs. The kit fits in the existing space while saving weight, improving performance and safety. The 48 V kit comes in 8, 9.6, 16 and 19.2 KWh versions. The kit comes with all necessary hardware while remaining compatible with the Polaris on-board charger. Included are batteries with integrated BMS (battery management system), communication cables, CAN current sensor, state of charge indicator and all mechanical hardware for battery hold down. Each 12 V module is monitored by Flux Power’s BMS and charging is regulated by an advanced CAN current sensor to assure a maintenance free long-life.
