Under executive director Carrie Hawthorne (Guatemala 02-05) it seeks to include fair trade items from other countries. e non-profit cultivates partnerships between poor artisans and conscientious consumers through Fair Trade craft sales and education and has sold $125,000 worth of items ranging from baby blankets to ceramics. www.fairtradeperu.com LIBRARIES IN GHANA Hilda and Kirt Bromley (Ghana 6769) founded the Books for Africa Library Project. Local professionals run Maya Tech Learning Centers to give rural Mayan children access to structured Internet programming that is unavailable in their classrooms. It is a branch of Swan Tinamit, an NGO accredited by the Ministry of Education to increase educational opportunities for Mayan children.
