Miller, President and Publisher of the Winston-Salem Journal, began his newspaper career in 1973 in the news and advertising departments of the New Albany Tribune in IN. He became advertising manager at the Atchison (KS) Globe in 1975 and later held advertising director positions with Thomson Newspapers in Missouri, Alabama and Ohio. In 1995 he was named publisher of the Altoona (PA) Mirror. He later moved to Phoenix to help with the transition of newly-acquired newspaper operations in Sun City, Scottsdale, Chandler, Tempe, and Gilbert, AZ. He was appointed publisher of the Tribune Star in Terre Haute, IN, in 1999 and was then transferred to Florence, SC, where he served as publisher of the Morning News from August 1999 until December 2006. Michael E. Pulitzer, Jr. is a broadcasting/digital media executive serving asstation manager for WXII TV/Digital Media. The station has the network affiliations with NBC and is owned by APRIL 2008 Hearst Argle Television. WXIITV/ Diogital media is the leading local television news operation serving the Piedmont Triad Region of NC. He serves as President of the UNC School Journalism Foundation and is past president of the NC Association of Broadcasters. He is a descendant (great grandson) of Joseph Pulitzer, founder of the Pulitzer Prizes. Calvin Patterson is Host/ Producer of “Empowering You,” a public affairs radio program that airs on WSNC FM 90.5. He is also the Chairman/CEO of Earnest Harvest LLC. He is a Board of Trustee for the Arts Council of WinstonSalem/ Forsyth County, where he serves as the Vice Chairman and Chair of the Community Relations Committee. He is also a Resource Development Manager at Goler Community Development Corporation.
