Cenegenics Physician Training 2008 - (Page 14) Faculty Jeffry S. Life, MD, PhD Dr. Jeffry S. Life is a course codirector and faculty member for Cenegenics Education and Research Foundation (CERF). He also is the CMO of Cenegenics® Las Vegas. Dr. Life has completed Physician Training & Certification in Age Management Medicine, jointly sponsored by CERF and the Foundation for Care Management (FCM). Dr. Life is board certified in family medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (1990). Dr. Life earned a BA in biology and chemistry from Albion College, a master’s in human physiology and pharmacology from Wayne State University School of Medicine, then a PhD in environmental toxicology from the University of Michigan. He earned a medical degree from the University of Iowa, where he also worked part-time as a research scientist on studies regarding thermal stresses on hepatic drugmetabolizing enzyme systems, protein synthesis, heavy metals and chlorinated hydrocarbons. Dr. Life completed his residencies (family practice and internal medicine) at West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, then entered family practice and emergency medicine. In addition to his practice, he also became the medical director of both the Wyoming County Correctional Facility and Catholic Social Services. Then in 199, Dr. Life entered the EAS National Body-forLIFE Challenge at age 60—and won the contest, becoming a Grand Champion. In 00, Dr. Life joined Cenegenics where he later became a senior Institute physician. In 007, he was presented with the first-ever Alan P. Mintz, MD award, given for medical excellence in age management medicine. That same year, Dr. Life assumed the chief medical officer role at Cenegenics Las Vegas. Alvin B. Lin, MD Dr. Alvin B. Lin is a course codirector and a faculty member for Cenegenics Education and Research Foundation (CERF). He also is a senior Institute physician at Cenegenics Medical Institute. Dr. Lin has completed Physician Training & Certification in Age Management Medicine, jointly sponsored by CERF and the Foundation for Care Management (FCM). Dr. Lin is board certified in family medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Lin earned his bachelor of science in biology and a post-baccalaureate in computer science from the University of California, Riverside. After receiving a medical degree from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University, Dr. Lin completed his residency in family medicine at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Lin completed a fellowship in geriatrics at the Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University. He earned the Certificate of Added Qualifications in geriatric medicine, then re-certified in family medicine. Dr. Lin continued at East Carolina, where he was appointed director of the Ambulatory Geriatrics Center and assistant clinical professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the Brody School of Medicine. In this capacity, Dr. Lin had the opportunity to train the next generation of family physicians, geriatricians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners, while delivering babies and caring for the elderly. Dr. Lin also is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Nevada School of Medicine (Department of Family and Community Medicine). His diverse professional background, coupled with ACLS, ALSO, ATLS, BLS, NRP and PALS certifications, has made him an influential and successful mentor. 1 www.cenegenicsfoundation.org
