Helen Jacobson, widow of our colleague DAVID JACOBSON ,ז״לwho was honored by Temple Beth-El of San Antonio on the occasion of her 100th birthday. AVI MAGID on being honored by the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for the gift of 1700 volumes from his library to enhance the Jewish Studies Department chaired by HUC professor Marc Bregman. UNCG created a five hundred square foot space in Jackson Library to house the Rabbi Avi Magid Jewish Studies Library, the only one in the UNC system. SIMEON MASLIN on the publication of his new book, “…and turn it again,” a collection of midrashic essays, memoirs and vignettes, all inspired by verses from Tanakh. HAROLD SILVER on receiving the Lillian Johnson Memorial Award in stone sculpture at the annual Students Exhibition at the Long Boat Key Center for the Arts.
