From the President Welcome to the 2008 ZTEC Instruments catalog. This catalog is designed to quickly provide you with basic information about our modular oscilloscopes and function generators. We will show you how our instruments solve specific test challenges found in aerospace/defense and high energy physics applications, in addition to general purpose test applications. Although ZTEC has delivered great modular instruments for more than 10 years, 2008 promises to be our most exciting year yet. Throughout 2008 we will add several products to our new M-Class family of oscilloscopes and function generators. Upon completion, ZTEC’s M-Class oscilloscopes and function generators will include economy, precision and performance models available in PXI, PCI, VXI and LXI formats. And of course, as we roll out M-Class products, we will continue to sell and support our existing C-Class instruments for many years to come. Our M-Class series of oscilloscopes and function generators bring closer to reality, ZTEC’s vision of combining the best of benchtop and modular instrumentation. ZTEC’s unique products offer the performance and ease-of-use of benchtop instruments and the flexibility and high channel density of modular instruments. Unlike traditional modular instrumentation, our modular scopes and function generators give users robust feature sets, just like those found in benchtop instruments. Plus, ZTEC’s free control software and quality drivers make it easy to manually or remotely control our instruments. Software plays a key role in making modular instruments as easy to use as benchtop instruments. With our intuitive ZScopeTM and ZWaveTM instrument control and display software, ZTEC’s modular instruments look and operate just like their benchtop counterparts. For users who interface with our products programmatically, we provide quality drivers and software examples supporting key programming environments and standards, including LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Visual Basic, and others. In addition to providing individual drivers for each instrument we sell, ZTEC also provides class-level drivers. Class-level drivers for both our M-Class and C-Class products maximize instrument interchangeability and eliminate the need to change code when changing instruments. With class-level drivers, users who have written code for one instrument in a class can interchange any other instrument in that class without re-writing code. For example a user can replace an 8-bit economy oscilloscope with a high-resolution 16-bit oscillscope without writing any new code.
