Like a true entrepreneur I have ‘tried and tested’ various business opportunities. What I realised was it wasn’t the ‘business idea’ that was bad but how I approached it. I figured that if I want to be successful then I would need to learn from the people who have already achieved the goals I desired. I searched the internet, read books upon books in personal development, biographies of extremely wealthy people and quickly came to the conclusion that almost everyone either made their wealth or held their wealth in real estate. I began learning the topic of property investing at a very young age and bought my first property 5yrs ago. As financing is an essential ingredient in business and property investing I began my career working in an accountancy firm, then moving into the financial services sector and finally setting up on my own as a commercial finance broker (www.1visionfinance.com). This gave me an insight on how to structure deals and develop many contacts in the property investment market. While I was anticipating the onset of the credit crunch I put the necessary systems in place in order to launch 1VISION Investment Properties (www.1visionproperties.co.uk), specialising in sourcing off-market discounted property deals in both the residential and commercial markets. There’s a lot of doom and gloom across the media regarding the overall property market. The property market as we know it has come to a standstill. However in the world I live in the market has never been so vibrant. Everyone has heard the famous philosophy “buy low and sell high”. Most people agree that this is a good strategy. However, when it comes to it, most people don’t act on it. Why? The simple answer is emotional intelligence! The amateur investor makes decisions based on emotions. The big one is fear.
