RACHEL ELNAUGH RAW I am pleased to announce that Million Impossible and Raw magazine are exhibiting at two up and coming Business trade shows. The first is the Business Show being held at the Bolton Arena on the 23rd of October 2008 and the second is Business Startups being held at London Olympia 28th and 29th November 2008. We are equally delighted to confirm that Rachel Elnaugh will be attending both shows and will be available for personal signings of her new book “Business Nightmares – When Entrepreneurs hit crisis point” on our stands. For some of us we know Rachel Elnaugh as the former MD of Red Letter Days – The UK’s leading gift experience business and others a Dragon on The BBC’s BAFTA award winning Dragons Den series but Rachel is also a business coach, mentor and speaker. I know Rachel as a very supportive and inspirational lady and has recently been working very hard at helping Entrepreneurs grow their business and I am most glad to say that she has very kindly spent some time with me. I recently attended one of Rachel’s Business Masterclass events held at the British library and I found it very rewarding, offering me and twenty other Entrepreneurs a great day combined with a superb takeaway value for both myself and our businesses. This is what Rachel had to say about her new “Business Nightmares” Book “People often ask me what I am doing now I am no longer on BBCTVs Dragons Den. The answer is that I have spent the past two years or so away from the mainstream media spotlight, working in the small business sector inspiring, motivating and helping entrepreneurs - through speaking at business events, consultancy and mentoring. But it looks as if I have well and truly stepped back into the media spotlight with the release of my first book Business Nightmares in May 2008. The book was serialised in the Telegraph and is the WHSmith Business Book of the Month for May. In the book I look at the stories of 15 successful entrepreneurs and how they overcame adversity in their business careers. The book is also semi-autobiographical in that my own experiences are woven throughout the chapters, and for the first time I tell in my own words the true story of the rise and fall of my first company Red Letter Days. I think Business Nightmares is particularly relevant given that we are entering perhaps the most challenging period for small businesses since the recession of the early 1990s. Both consumers and businesses have precious little spare cash and obtaining finance at the moment is extremely difficult. All of which means that the next year or two are going to be extremely tough for small business. Hopefully my book will give some hope, inspiration and a little sage advice to those who are struggling from others who have overcome great hurdles on their way to success. I hope that in some way, I can help you on your own entrepreneurial journey and I continue to develop this site as a source of free information and inspiration for small businesses.
