Raw 02 - September 2008 - (Page 68) RAW CLARKE INFINITY TRUST Build a business on trust and you will have a client base for ever. I started my company aged 17 and have been lucky enough to be involved in a fantastic industry. I also had great parents that helped me in the early years my Mum doing the books and my Dad helping me install those early systems. In addition to that I was lucky enough to be awarded £40 a week from the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and this alone helped keep me keep afloat in the first year. I watched many of the companies around me going out of business and the ones that carried on were too proud to give in including me. My main business then was installing TV aerial & satellite television and the competition was fierce. I saw companies drop like flies trying to beat prices in this competitive market so I decided to start charging more money yet doing the best possible job I could including hiding all the wiring and painting where necessary. This worked well as I was starting to build a fantastic client base. My lucky break came when I was 19 when Don Lewin the owner of Clinton Cards asked me to install a 15 zone sound system in his mansion in Chigwell. The installation was fantastic and I managed to hides all of the kit out of site to be controlled by keypads in each room. This was the first truly multi source multi room system to be installed in the UK. The following project was a 26 zone system for well known client in surrey. People now often ask the Clarke infinity team how we have been so successful in building a client base includes the rich and famous allowing us to create fantastic home Theatre installations in England, Portugal and Spain. Although the company name has changed many times over the years after 21 years our culture remains the same. We pride ourselves in achieving the best possible installation within our client’s budget, whether its £1,000 or £500,000 as every project starts with a clear understanding of the end result. Our team is built up of highly skilled people that are all passionate about what they do. When interviewing new staff we do so as a team and take on the people we feel not only fit in but are also passionate about what they do. On large projects we are involved from the design stage to the finish and more importantly will be working in our client’s home long after the builder has left and it’s for this reason that everything is now done in house and the client only has one point of contact. Please let me use this opportunity to let know why people use Clarke Infinity. 1. Having a single point of contact for your home will save all the phoning round and sitting home waiting for installers to turn up. Unlike other companies all of our work is done in house including basic tasks like TV aerial and satellite work. 2. 90% of our installations are from recommendations. This being the result of constant team training and having a friendly team all passionate about what we do. 3. We have an in house dedicated pre-wire team that will take care in your home to cable with the least amount of disruption. 4. On refurbish and new build we have set up tubehome.co.uk. Fed up with other companies talking about a future proofed home. We know that the only real way to future proof is with a tube home. People over estimate what changes there will be in the next 2 years yet under estimate what will change in the next 10 years. 5. Unique to Clarke Infinity we have designed a Clarke remote that works over Ethernet. This has proved to be the simplest way of controlling all of your Audio, Video, CCTV and Lighting with a single cost effective remote. Most off all, you will always be able to speak to someone at our office Monday-Saturday Simon Clarke Director of Million Impossible 68 millionimpossible.com http://tubehome.co.uk http://www.millionimpossible.com
