The Xplor View - July 2008 - (Page 1) Welcome Welcome: This is our third issue for 2008 and as drupa 2008 is now complete, we thought it only reasonable to include feature articles from Gilles Biscos, INTERQUEST Ltd, and Andrew Tribute, @ttributes, to provide snapshots of the activity from the world’s largest printing show. Other actives since the last issue have again been focused around delivering membership value as well as growing the membership itself. A new feature will be the delivery of a dynamic PDF version of The VIEW, and anyone interested in having access to this needs to be a member. The Services Directory will now be a regular feature for The VIEW and I would encourage anyone wishing to market their services to speak with Roberta. The annual Xplor UK & Ireland Golf and dinner was held in June at the Manor of Groves, Hertfordshire. This was an ideal opportunity to network with other members whether you were a golfer or not. Our event overall winner this year was Carl Nolan of InfoPrint Solutions. The next event for us will be in October, once again working with the exhibition organisers of Digital Print World who are providing a new exhibition for 2008—Total Print! Expo bringing offset and digital under one roof. This will be an important feature for Xplor as the new audience are those from the offset world seeking education for the transition into digital and the new markets consolidating the two technologies to deliver creative applications. We will be seeking participants to present master classes on two days of the exhibition as well as panellists for the two debate sessions during the lunch periods. We are pleased to announce that Canon has agreed to provide marketing support as their corporate sponsorship. This is a great opportunity for Xplor UK & Ireland to extend our marketing efforts as well as having direct access to the journalists and other publications to broaden our market presence. We hope you enjoy the latest issue of The VIEW.
