Tools to Help (continued) Scirus is Elsevier’s free web search engine developed especially for scientists. It enables anyone searching for scientific, technical, social science or medical information to pinpoint what they need – including peer-reviewed articles, patent information, author home pages and university web sites – quickly and easily: www.scirus.com SciTopics is a free, wiki-like resource for the scientific community. Upon invitation from SciTopics Subject Editors and Elsevier Journal Editors, scientific experts write clear, succinct and up-to-date synopses of specific topics, and recommend the most relevant and recent journal articles and Web links for that topic. In addition, keywords on each SciTopics Page are searched automatically by Scirus and Scopus on a daily basis, offering users the latest Web results and peer-reviewed literature. The latest and relevant published articles relevant to the topic page are also displayed and dynamically updated each time the page is visited. The pages are easily found through search engines on the Web and provide an excellent vehicle for the author to promote their research to peers and the broader scientific community. Individual topic pages also act as waypoints for researchers looking to find the most relevant and authoritative material on a particular topic. The implicit recommendations of the expert who has authored the page make it a unique research discovery tool. Researchers can register on individual topic pages of interest and add comments. The Topic Pages can also have multiple authors supporting global collaborative research.
