Vizrt Outlines IP Future Of
Broadcast News Graphics

izrt has embarked on a product
roadmap for its next-generation
Viz Engine – the core of its realtime compositing technology –
that takes into account all of the
advantages of IP.
The creation, distribution and onair display of broadcast graphics are
perhaps the most complex, labour
and time intensive parts of the news
production process, says Vizrt. So
it’s important for news staff to work
collaboratively and in many cases
simultaneously to get the story out.
The key is a fully networked
operation that uses IP to send ﬁles
in a highly deterministic and reliable
way. An IP infrastructure also costs
less to deploy and often necessitates
less manpower to do so.
Petter Ole Jakobsen, Vizrt’s
Chief Technology Ofﬁcer, said that
the industry needs to migrate to
a platform that can do more with
the same resources. IP is the most

USA: At NAB, I-MOVIX will debut
the X10+ real time continuous
ultra-motion system alongside its
sister the X10, introduced at IBC.
X10+ offers a two-in-one capability
– producers can use X10+ in
the same way as X10 to provide
continuous capture with 10x replay.
It can operate at frame rates up to
2,600 fps in 1080i50 or up to 5,600
fps in 720p60, with instant replay.
Developed in partnership with
EVS, X10 is combined with the EVS
XT3 production server.
