Litepanels Announces Brick
Bi-Color And Brick One
L

itepanels, a Vitec Group brand and
premier provider of LED lighting
for the broadcast and production
industries, is excited to announce the
launch of their new Brick and Brick
One Light Kit. Now more robust, the
Brick Bi-Color provides the perfect
on-camera solution for on-the-go ENG
cameramen, especially for those in wet
conditions.
Building on the legacy of the
revolutionary MiniPlus, the new Brick
Bi-Color's high CRI and TLCI surface
mount LEDs with custom-designed
optics provide superior colour
reproduction that delivers accurate
colour temperature adjustability.
These tightly binned LEDs also
produce a light output that is up to
four times brighter than the original
MiniPlus, resulting in a longer throw
that effectively allows the Brick to
illuminate a larger area. By having

a comparable luminance output of
100W, it offers up to 1060 LUX (98
Footcandles) at 5ft (1.5M) while only
drawing 16.5W.
The Brick can also adapt to any
situation by providing both daylight
and tungsten lighting. And with its
ultra-smooth dimming from 0-100%,
it is not only flicker free at any frame
rate or shutter angle, but the Brick
also has no noticeable colour shift
throughout its entire range.

like the MiniPlus, the Brick is designed

With an IP 65 rating, the Litepanels

Brick offers an innovative passive
cooling system and a dust tight design
with water protection, providing
excellent durability in harsh weather.
For ultimate convenience, Litepanels
has also included a 3ft (0.9m)
Power Tap cable to connect the
Brick to cameras that support D-Tap
connections.
The Brick One Light Kit consists of a
half white diffusion gel, a Manfrotto
244 Micro articulating arm, a 6ft

(1.8 m) international power supply,
a 60° Honeycomb frame, a soft
diffusion frame, and a waterproof
hard case with custom foam for safe
transportation. Optional accessories
for the Brick include an Anton/Bauer
QRG-LG plate and an Anton/Bauer
Power Tap extension.
The Brick Bi-Color and Brick One
Light Kit is available at the end of
October.

Introduces B:LINK Network

imecode Systems Ltd., a pioneer in
wireless technologies for sharing
timecode and metadata, has announced
the launch of B:LINK, a new RF network
that augments the company's tools for
wireless timecode-sharing. B:LINK is an
elegant solution for reliable, long-range
syncing, control, and status-monitoring
of those tools across a set or a venue.

At the same time, crews can use WiFi or Ethernet as a short wireless hop
into third-party applications such as
MovieSlate 8 and the Timecode Buddy
:app.
"Originally, we used the longrange RF only for one-way timecode
and genlock, but we knew that with
development, we could make better

use of the bandwidth and actually
multiplex two-way communication
in between the sync data," said Paul
Scurrell, Timecode Systems' CEO.
"Meanwhile, our customers and
integration partners were asking
for the ability to control cameras
and sound equipment as well as
synchronise it, and partners such
as MovieSlate demanded more
metadata from the connected
equipment for logging and report
data. B:LINK satisfies all of those
expectations. Now customers
and partners can not only share
timecode wirelessly, but also
control all devices on the network
and gather more metadata
wirelessly, as well - which
means fewer cables and greater
convenience."
The proprietary B:LINK RF
network keeps the same incredibly
accurate wireless sync over

the robust sub-GHz ISM bands, but
adds enhanced two-way multiplexed
status/control and metadata. This
setup allows for complete monitoring
and control of all connected B:LINKenabled Timecode Systems' devices,
and is built to allow long-range remote
control and status-monitoring of any
connected third-party accessories.
Timecode Systems demonstrated the
B:LINK network at IBC 2015 using its
:wave and :mini trx+ units operating on
the long-range B:LINK protocol from
the B:LINK master device. Attendees
were able to view status and control
settings remotely on the :wave and
:mini trx+ units using Timecode
Systems' free Timecode Buddy :app.
This demonstration gave visitors a
true understanding of the powerful
features enabled by this revolutionary
new proprietary protocol.
