Aspera FASP has no theoretical
throughput limit, and is only
constrained by the available network
bandwidth and the hardware resources
at both ends of the transfers. Aspera
also demonstrated new cluster
transfer capabilities designed for
public cloud and high-performance
computing applications. The capability
includes Aspera's new Autoscale
technology, allowing for dynamic,
real-time scaling of transfer capacity
with automatic start/stop of transfer
server instances, automatic balancing
of client requests across available
instances, and configurable service
levels to manage maximum transfer
load per instance, available idle
instances for "burst", and automatic
decommissioning of unused instances.

At the NAB Show New York, the
company showed its HS2 lamp head,
which features a single piece design
for increased ruggedness, as well as
an improved safety switch for better
reliability.
Another fixture shown, the RDM450,
is smaller and lighter weight than the
company's existing DTZ450 power
supply, and features completely redesigned electronics for improved
reliability. Other new features include
digital display and control, remote
programming via RDM, as well as
fine dimming, smooth dimming and
strobe capability. The RDM450 can
be attached directly to the HS2 head
for one-piece operation or operated
remotely up to 300 feet from the
fixture.

new Dalet xN, a cloud-based solution
that goes beyond mere virtualisation
to extending and augmenting cloud
and hybrid environments to provide
a truly dynamic and flexible business
infrastructure.
Derived from L'extension Nuage
(the extended cloud), Dalet xN
leverages the breadth and depth
of the three Dalet platforms, Dalet
Galaxy, Dalet AmberFin and Dalet Brio,
for media management, processing
and acquisition, respectively, to
provide business solutions, services
and applications for all levels of the
media workflow, allowing users to
reimagine the media enterprise and
new business opportunities. Dalet
xN is based on three key concepts:
agile infrastructure, next generation
operations and new business horizons.

Isilon is a scale out

storage platform

designed for high-volume storage,
backup and archiving of unstructured
data. It provides a cluster-based
storage array based on industry
standard hardware, and is scalable
to 50 petabytes in a single file system
using its FreeBSD-derived OneFS file
system.
An Isilon clustered storage system
is composed of three or more nodes.
Each node is a self-contained, rackmountable device that contains
industry standard hardware, including
disk drives, CPU, memory and network
interfaces, and is integrated with
proprietary operating system software
called OneFS (based on FreeBSD[3]),
which unifies a cluster of nodes into a
single shared resource.
MXFserver is a software only total
solution for film, broadcast and
post-production. It gives editors the
freedom to open projects in different
editing systems simultaneously.

Editors, journalists, and producers can
tap into the NetApp FAS8000 via the
Bitcentral unified production platform
to share and collaborate, with enough
bandwidth to work simultaneously on
different tasks.

Dalet xN, a cloud-based solution

Digital Nirvana showcased the
latest version (2.0) of its Media
Management Platform for content
creation, capture and delivery. It
now features an easy way to capture
content from multiple sources and
publish it to digital platforms - while
monitoring the video and audio for
quality and compliance. Version 2.0
features an expanded social media
publishing and service function.
The Media Management Platform
features a powerful content retrieval
system called SmartSearch, and
operates on a Centralized Management
server; which unites all units
deployed throughout the system to
one central point. The Centralized
Management application empowers
users with simultaneous access to
multiple channels of content from
any geographic area at any time.
The Digital Nirvana platform delivers
a full range of multi-channel signal
monitoring,
logging,
compliance
and archiving functions, is fully
customisable, and features a userfriendly interface.

storage solutions with its software

Encompass is also using Harmonic's

5840-based system, with nearly
a petabyte of usable storage and
9,200MB/s of IP bandwidth, which
has been installed at Encompass
to facilitate storage and editing of
content up to 4K/UHD.
