Software Encoders
Deployed At Festival
GBR: BBC Scotland has used Open
Broadcast Systems' softwaredefined encoders to deliver HD
over IP content direct from this
summer's Edinburgh Festivals.
The content was delivered live
from the BBC's broadcast and
audience hub at George Heriot's
School
during
the
August
Edinburgh Festivals.
Two OBE C-100 IP-based encoders
were used to deliver high bitrate
live feeds to both Pacific Quay in
Glasgow and New Broadcasting
House in London.

RTW Shows
Upgraded CLC
USA: RTW has highlighted its
range of loudness metering
and measurement solutions, in
particular its newly upgraded
Continuous Loudness Control (CLC)
software Version 2.0, at AES 2016.
With the release of version 2.0,
RTW's CLC further improves the
quality of loudness processing
with various enhancements of its
superior processing algorithm.
The feature set of the software is
also strengthened with a number
of new options, including batch
processing, extended audio format,
and a new expert mode.

BroadSoft Validation
Revolabs' For Phones
USA: Revolabs' FLX UC 1000 and
UC 1500 VoIP and USB conference
phones have been validated for use
with the BroadSoft BroadWorks SIP
interface.
Jim Fairweather, Executive VP
of Global Sales at Revolabs, said
the validation opened up "new
communication service provider
opportunities, allowing them to
confidently select and provision
these solutions".
BroadWorks platform validated
conference phones can easily
be added to the network and
automatically configured to work
with a network and services.

get greedy," said Hollywood film
director Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain,
Life of Pi) at the first European showing
of his latest film, Billy Lynn's Long
Halftime Walk, at the IBC Big Screen
Experience.
Show Director Julian
Pinn opened the session
promising, "I don't think
I'm exaggerating when
I say this is cinema
history in the making."
Further
underlining
what the audience was
shortly to experience, Pinn added
the clips would be shown on, "...the
Christie Mirage, the only projector
capable of showing 120fps, 3D 4K at 28
foot-lamberts".

It is able to achieve the high frame
rate and resolution, due to Christie's
investment in the TruLife electronics
platform with a video-processing
pipeline of up to 1.2 Gigapixels per
second.

SWG Events Invests In DiGiCo S21s

WG Events has recently invested
in two DiGiCo S21 digital mixing
consoles and they have been busy from
the moment the company took delivery
of them.

SWG Events has been providing
technical production services to the
events industry since 1985 and has
a long-standing relationships with a
multitude of engineers.
"A lot of the freelancers
and tours we work with have
seen the benefits of DiGiCo
consoles and we've hired
them in previously," says the
company's Mark Bott. "But we
had an opening in the fleet for
a small size console, with the
level of functionality of a much
larger console and we wanted
to minimise the weight on our
DiGiCo S21 console at Glastonbury

transport. Having the S21 adds a great
brand name to our inventory. There
only a handful of pro audio brands that
if you say they are going to be at either
end of the multicore everyone is going
to be happy."
The day after SWG received the
consoles, they went out on a store
launch for a large DIY chain and
then on to Glastonbury for the BBC
Introducing stage, along with SD10s on
the Park Stage.
"This was our first Glastonbury
rolling out DiGiCo," said Mark. "The
guys from DiGiCo came and supported
us there. It was brilliant to have that
backup."
