There will be no impact to end users except for users of Payroll and human resources (Phr) employGo Live is ee self-service set for Tuesday (ess) and ManAugust 3rd.” ager self-service (Mss) systems. as a result of the upgrade, the current Phr system will move to saP eCC6.0, which offers benefits of easier to use system features and ensures the system is in line with the most up to date version of saP. “ (l-r): Pat Greaney, Stefan Grabarek, Vivienne Walsh, Niall Roche, Lars Petersen and Malcom Dalton. Facilities say goodbye to four colleagues The end of March saw four popular and well known colleagues depart from the Facilities area of head Office. all were well known throughout the organisation for their level of service and expertise in their respective roles in Facilities where they worked Copy Bureau, Mailing and Facilities. Paddy hughes, Billy Finlay, Joe Breslin and eamon Mooney were all familiar faces to staff in head Office and beyond and were extremely helpful in their various roles. The four opted for a joint celebration to mark their retirement where tributes were paid to them for their great service over many years. We wish them health and happiness in their retirements. Pictured above are Dave Dowling, Facilities Manager (centre) with (l-r): Paddy Hughes, Billy Finlay, Joe Breslin and Eamon Mooney. n Training The technology being introduced to support the ess and Mss modules of Phr has changed. Because of technology changes, the ess and Mss modules had to be rebuilt rather than upgraded. now, there is a requirement for esB business units to communicate and provide training to staff affected by these changes. The numbers are significant - ap- proximately 3,000 ess users and 1,000 Mss users. staff will require appropriate and timely training based on their individual training needs. although business processes remain the same, the training objective for the upgrade project is to ensure that users: • Learn how to continue to do their work using the enhanced system. • Understand how to reference ‘job aids’ or support post go-live. How will training be delivered? each business unit has a nominated person who alongside ‘super users’ will coordinate the delivery of all training and ensure that support documentation is updated. Depending on the type of user and the changes involved, training will be either delivered face-to-face or by providing online training. Testing The upgraded system will be tested by esB Business unit representatives in June to ensure that business requirements are fully met. To date demonstrations of ess and Mss changes have been given to: • The PHR Governance group and esB’s human resources Council (hrC). • Representatives from Power Generation stations. Some of the changes ahead Easy navigation Current internet customer applications, such as booking a flight, guide you through a process step by step. The new expenses screen, shown also has this enhanced functionality. Ready access to information staff and their managers will benefit from improvements to the layout and availability of data including colour coding display. The Manager self service screen shown displays these enhancements. What’s next? ‘Go live’ is set for Tuesday August 3rd. Training will be delivered throughout June and July, so keep an eye out for further updates coming soon from your Business Unit! n Eddie Watts retires After 35 years of service Eddie Watts has taken leave of ESB to pursue his many and varied interests. Eddie’s career in ESB took him in many directions from Fleet St, Tarbert, Poolbeg, ICT, Group Internal Audit and finally Shared Services. Throughout all of his career Eddie demonstrated a level of technical knowledge and commitment second to none. Eddie leaves with the best wishes of all his colleagues and friends.
