new products 19inch, Bright TFT LCDs are suitable for use in outdoor environments Solder Barrier Receptacles are suitable for through-hole soldering Miniature Relay Switches offer RF signal capabilities of up to 7GHz O ptrex has introduced three, high brightness, TFT LCDs, which feature a 19inch diagonal panel and have a 1500cd/m2 brightness. They have a low power consumption, a standard LDVS interface and white LED backlights with 100kh lifetimes. The LCDs are suitable for use in outdoor environments, including direct sunlight and other high-ambient-light environments, such as a brightly lit factory floor, where the display has to be readable at all times in any environment over a wide temperature range. The 19inch T-55699D190JLW-A-AAN display features a resolution of 1280x1024pixel, power consumption of 33.2W, a contrast ratio of 800:1. The display also includes horizontal and vertical viewing angles of -80 to +80° and operates between -20 and +70°C. The 12.1inch T-55592D121J-LW-A-ABN display features a resolution of 1280x800pixel, a power consumption of 13.1W and a contrast ratio of 700:1. The 9inch T-55562D090J-LW-A-ACN display features a resolution of 800x480pixel, power consumption of 6.4W and a contrast ratio of 800:1. The 12.1 and 9inch displays feature viewing angles of -80 to +80° and -60 to +80° along horizontal and vertical directions, respectively, and they operate between -30 and +80°C. M ill-Max’s OFP (organic fibre plug) solder barrier receptacles are discrete sockets for through-hole soldering into PCBs. The open bottom receptacles are fitted with OFPs to prevent solder, paste or flux from contaminating the internal contact during the placing and soldering process. When the device and mating lead are plugged into the receptacle the OFP is knocked out, allowing the mating lead to pass through the fingers of the internal contact and make a good electrical connection. The receptacles are available in 14 sizes and styles, in which 13 have standard tape and reel packaging. This packaging is said to permit through-hole components to be placed simultaneously with surface mount parts on pick-and-place assembly lines. The OFP barrier permits the sockets to be vacuum picked from the tape prior to placement in a hole in the PCB. The reduced length provides two advantages, namely, the receptacles can stand upright and stable in a carrier tape pocket and the protrusion through the PCB is minimal. The open bottom receptacle eliminates the need to trim long device leads and also makes them suitable for low profile board stacking applications. All the receptacles use a precision-machined brass housing with a press-fit beryllium copper, multifinger contact. M eder has introduced the CR, SIL HV, SIL RF and MSRF series of miniature, instrumentation grade relay switches that are coil wrapped. The switches are activated by sending a charge to the coil and are suitable for fast switching applications. They can switch up to 1A and can carry pulsed currents up to 5A. Sizes range from 8.6 to 24.13mm in length and 3.4 to 8.13mm in height. The switches have an internal magnetic shield to eliminate any magnetic coupling effect when stacked in matrices. Each series offers RF signal capabilities ranging up to 7GHz. The CR relays can switch signals up to 7GHz and produce offset voltages of less than 1µV. They are housed in a rugged, over-moulded, ceramic package with thermal offset voltage capability. The ceramic substrate has leadless goldplated pads, making them suitable for surface mounting. Both the 1GHz MSRF and 1.5GHz SIL RF relays can switching voltages up to 200V DC and 1A. They maintain a consistent 100mΩ on-state resistance. They can provide over 1500V isolation, switch to coil. The SIL RF relays feature a power rating of 10W. They can switch up to 1000V and carry up to 5A for up to 50ms at a constant repetition rate. They can dielectrically hold off up to 4kV DC across the contacts and between contacts and coil.
