Slam Dunkin’
If Dunkin’ Donuts were a professional basketball team, they might be known as the Slam Dunkins. Based on recent developments, the donut shop and bakery cafe chain is soaring to new heights through rapid acceleration of its vast global operations. The result could prove a slam-dunk victory on the court of consumer appeal. With almost 7,000 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the US, the company plans to more than double its current number of domestic restaurants over the next 20 years. Dunkin’ Brands recently signed a long-term, performancebased agreement for National DCP to be the exclusive supply chain provider for all Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the continental United States. The agreement, which was effective the first of the year upon the merger of the four existing regional franchisee-owned cooperatives into one national cooperative, offers numerous financial savings and service-improvement service improvement benefits to Dunkin’ franchisees.
