Poder dirigir el tráfico a
las panaderías representa una
misión crucial para las panaderías
hispanas y tiendas de comestibles. La temporada de fiesta
ofrece un período del año clave
para aumentar la exposición y las
ventas de panadería. Una variedad
de estrategias y tácticas exitosas son
empleadas en las panaderías en el
corazón de EE.UU.
En Milwaukee, WI, el operador
de cuatro tiendas, El Rey Food
Markets promueve las ofertas para
las temporadas de fiesta durante
todo el año en Facebook y a través
de su sitio web, elreyfoods.com.
Los pasteles son productos de
gran atracción durante el verano y
otoño, y la demanda por los panes y
productos dulces impulsa el tráfico
de manera especialmente positiva
durante los meses de invierno.
"Nuestros pasteles son muy

populares junto con las piñatas que
los clientes llevan cuando van a los
parques," dice Ernesto Villarreal,
propietario de El Rey Food Markets.
"Una vez que el otoño e invierno
empiezan, lo mismo ocurre con las
ventas de panadería. Promovemos
el café y el chocolate caliente mexicano, que va a la perfección con
nuestra panadería mexicana."
Carlos Jacobo de Jacobo's
Grocery en Omaha, NE, dice que
la temporada de fútbol en el otoño
presenta una excelente oportunidad para promover los totopos de
tortilla de maíz y la salsa. Jacobo's
produce tortillas de maíz frescas
y totopos de tortilla, así como la
salsa, en su tienda de comestibles
en Omaha.
"Fuimos los primeros en la
ciudad en tener nuestra propia
tortillería y panadería dentro de
la tienda," dice Jacobo. "Si no es
una cosa, es la otra que atrae a los
clientes a nuestra tienda."
Como entran las fiestas de
diciembre, Jacobo's Grocery promueve productos dulces tradicionales hispanos, además de otros
productos que las familias exigen
para las fiestas.
"Durante la Navidad y las
temporadas de fiesta vendemos
masa fresca para que los clientes
hagan sus propios tamales frescos
en casa," dice Jacobo. "El 24 de
diciembre es el día más ocupado
del año para nosotros. Nos da

gusto ayudar a nuestros clientes
a compartir las tradiciones importantes con sus familias."
A principios de enero, el plan
de panaderías para la celebración
de la Epifanía, preparando para
un aumento de la demanda de los
clientes para la rosca de reyes. Esta
tradición hispana tiene lugar 12 días
después de la Navidad en el sexto
día de enero, Día de Reyes, o la
aparición de los tres reyes magos.
Panaderías venderán cientos de
rosca de reyes durante este tiempo.
Para sacar el máximo provecho
de la oportunidad única de ventas
previos a esta celebración,
panaderías pueden crear mesas
de exhibición de colores para
promover los diferentes sabores de
la rosca de reyes, además de decorar
la mesa con figuras de los tres reyes
magos y cordones de colores para
los granos.
La decoración de las cerezas
en la rosca de reyes se significan
para simbolizar joyas en colores
rojo, blanco y verde (los colores
de la bandera mexicana). Colocar
una pequeña bandera mexicana en
su mesa de exhibición será recordar
a los clientes de la importancia de
esta celebración.
Andy Arza de Pan Dulce Bakery
en Lincoln, NE, señala que el
invierno es su período de mayor
ventas del año, por lo que es esencial planear por adelantado para
los días de fiesta en el invierno.
