IBIE TECH Going Mobile IBIE’s mobile app is designed to keep users up-to-date and on track. by Mari Rydings G “Going mobile” isn’t a new concept to IBIE veterans who have canvassed all 500,000 sq ft of the Las Vega Convention Center by foot during a show. And while sore feet and miles of walking can’t be avoided completely, a little pre-planning with the help of IBIE’s mobile app might save you a few steps. Sponsored by DuPont Nutrition & Health (Booth No. 5821), the mobile app is available for iPhone, Android and Blackberry 10 devices as well as via the Web for all other mobile devices. Consider the “My Event” feature as your personal assistant, helping organize your IBIE experience into My Inbox, My Agenda, Favorite Exhibitors, Favorite Speakers, My QR Codes and Settings. Twelve other options put everything showrelated at your fingertips. Need instant information about an exhibitor? Click on “Exhibitors” to access a searchable list of every company on the show floor, complete with booth numbers and contact details. Search by alphabetical order, language or product category. Want to save an exhibitor listing? Tap the star located at the bottom of each listing, and it will be saved in the “My Event” section under “Favorite Exhibitors.” This option is also available for program speakers. Find those exhibitors quickly with an interactive floor plan, located under “Mapping,” that highlights the shortest route from Point A to Point B, making your trip around the show floor more efficient. Creat e a personalized show agenda using the “Schedule” feature. Tapping this icon reveals a wcomprehensive listing of seminars, workshops and demonstrations that can be filtered by time, date, track and type (demo or seminar). Tap the star, and the information automatically appears by date under “My Agenda,” helping you keep track of where you need to be and when. “Show Features” and “Info” highlight “need to know” information, including new show floor attractions, logistical details such as shuttle routes, and IBIE contact information. If you’re looking for local entertainment, dining, shopping or golf options, checkout “Local Places,” which offers suggestions for an array of restaurants, golf courses, shows and shopping stops. Download the app now to build your “must see” exhibitors list, make dinner and show reservations, and gain a comfort level with the app in general. Then, once you hit the show floor, make sure you check for the latest updates. • The main page of the IBIE 2013 mobile app features 12 different options for organizing life at the show.
