"Clean labels have been at the top of the trend charts for years now,
and there is no doubt that they are here to stay," says Michael Gleason,

"We receive a lot of requests, especially from our industrial and retail
customers for clean label solutions. For some of these customers it is
a prerequisite, and they won't even entertain an innovation unless it is

shorter, clearer, and cleaner ingredient statements."
Puratos' research and development specialists have created a line
of Clean(er) Label Satin Cake Mixes to support bakers' efforts to
deliver to consumer demands. Retail bakeries can now offer finished

sweet goods with a cleaner label ingredient statement and eye
catching claims. These include no artificial color, no artificial flavors,
no bleached flour, no hydrogenated fats, no preservatives, and no
aluminum based baking powder.
Working with Satin from Puratos allows bakers to create 1,001 recipes
from simple cakes to the most sophisticated desserts. Satin is a highly
versatile line of cake mixes designed to deliver maximum variety at the
optimal level of quality. The products can be enriched with different
aromas. Satin Crème Cakes deliver great volume and a soft and creamy
texture. Satin Layer Cakes are designed to suit the creation of layer
cakes, cupcakes and more.
Rich Products Corp., which just launched its new Simply line of clean
label desserts, defines clean label products as those void of ingredients
that, through the voice of its customers and consumers, the company
has deemed to be the "most sensitive."
As part of a larger health and authenticity strategy, Rich's has established its own clean label guideline that is aligned with the growing
