PAPA MURPHY'S TRANSITIONS TO
ANTIBIOTIC-FREE CHICKEN
Papa Murphy's officials announced on July 18 that its
1,500-plus locations nationwide are serving chicken raised
without antibiotics across its entire menu. According to
Papa Murphy's it is the first national pizza brand to serve
chicken raised without antibiotics.
"Introducing chicken raised
without antibiotics to our menu is
a natural step for our brand, and
we are excited to offer customers
delicious, vegetarian fed chicken
that they can feel good about
serving their families," said
Brandon Solano, CMO of Papa
Murphy's.
Papa Murphy's will offer an
online promotion of its Chicken
Bacon Artichoke Gourmet Delite
pizza for $9 online from July 18
Cheese Filled Nuggets
through Aug. 14 to mark this
switch to antibiotic-free chicken.

"The Applegate brand was built on a foundation of
trust with consumers," Lykken said in his statement. "By
pursuing third-party certification on GMO avoidance
for all of our products, we're adding another layer of
credibility and providing consumers the information they
need to confidently make the best choices for themselves
and their families."

APPLEGATE TO REMOVE
GMOS FROM SUPPLY CHAIN
Bridgewater, New Jersey-based
Applegate, a subsidiary of
Hormel Foods, announced plans
to remove genetically modified
organisms from its supply chain.
"It's very significant that
today Applegate is promising to
go even further on our quest for
transparency and traceability
in removing GMOs from our
entire supply chain, including the
most problematic part - animal
feed," Steve Lykken, Applegate
president, said in a statement.
Applegate's announcement
comes as the company unveils
its first-ever Non-GMO Project
Verified Applegate Organics
Chicken Nuggets and Applegate
Organics Gluten-free Chicken
Nuggets. Both products are made
in compliance with Non-GMO
Project standards, which means
ongoing testing of all major
GMO risk ingredients, facility
inspections and annual audits, the
company explained.
