SUPPLIER INSIGHT CANTRELL Opportunity for Impact O ne benefit of membership in a large industry association is being able to enjoy the power of a collective organization. In April, we have the opportunity to take advantage of this power by participating in our annual Legislative Summit. You can read about a number of pivotal issues currently facing this industry that will have long term effects on our individual businesses on Page 13. The real power of an association lies in the participation of its individual members, not in the paid staff. Legislators respond most often to the constituents they represent, and the best way we to let our opinions be known is to meet with our respective representatives on a one-on-one basis. Having a strong presence on the Hill April 8 -10 is the best way we, as a group, can have a profound influence on our future. I urge each of you to consider participating. In addition to meetings with our respective representatives, there will be a number of committee meetings during this time. If you've ever wondered how you can take your SFA membership to the next level, I believe this will be your best opportunity for the entire year. Your participation in this event will give you exposure to the leaders of our industry as well as the great SFA staff (who do most of the work by arranging the meetings).
