EDITOR'S LETTER A YEAR OF LUXURY In our September/October issue, the beautiful home photography in “Sudden Sanctuary” was courtesy of Brian Thomas Jones, brianthomasjones.com. can hardly believe an entire year has gone by since we launched Luxury Life & Style here in the South Bay. And what a year it has been! Thanks to you, our amazing readers, our magazine has created quite a buzz around town. There’s nothing I enjoy more than bringing the best our area has to offer into your homes. There’s so much to celebrate, from Manhattan Beach to the Peninsula, and I’m delighted we have you to share it with. There are many other people to thank at this milestone. First, a big shout out to my contributing writers. They are the editorial backbone of the magazine and a pleasure to work with issue after issue. Thank you to the photographers who capture the stunning images from the pages of the home feature to Coda. Kudos to my dedicated editorial staff and proofreaders who remain a huge asset to the process, particularly Wendy Sipple and Bryan Fahrbach. Hats off to our designer George Kenton for his talent and hard work. Thanks to the cooperative community at large for giving me so much wonderful content to work with. And, lastly, a high five to the man behind the magic, Publisher Todd Klawin, for raising the bar and bringing a new kind of luxury to the South Bay. You may notice in this issue we’ve made a few small changes, an anniversary upgrade if you will. We’re trying out some new looks, adding a couple sections and embellishing on others. As the South Bay’s luxury profile grows, you better believe we want to be right along side covering it. In addition to your complimentary copy by mail, Luxury Life & Style is now available on leading newsstands throughout Southern California. In anticipation of the holiday season, we also added our first ever gift guide, a collection of luxury items for every person on your shopping list. With 2008 only weeks away, we previewed the finest Champagnes and got some holiday fashion tips for the New Year’s soiree. If you plan to head out of town, check out our tour of New Zealand’s spectacular wine country. Skiers will delight in vacation properties we scoped out from Mammoth to Deer Valley. We also have chefs, cars, caviar and plenty of exciting finds. Pop the bottle and raise a glass.
