Syngenta Thrive - 1Q/2013 - 5

Product Updates
Syngenta has reached commercial agreements with Plymouth Energy of Merrill, Iowa, and Bonanza BioEnergy of Garden City, Kan. The agreements will allow the two additional ethanol plants to use grain featuring Enogen® trait technology in the fall of 2013. Enogen trait technology is a revolutionary solution from Syngenta that enhances the productivity and efficiency of dry-grind ethanol production. By incorporating Enogen grain into its production process, an ethanol plant can realize dramatic improvements in ethanol production while reducing energy, gas and water usage. Syngenta is currently working with each ethanol plant to contract with local growers to plant Enogen corn seed. Growers under contract will begin planting the seed in the spring and will deliver their Enogen grain to a nearby plant following the 2013 harvest. In return, growers will be paid a premium price for each bushel of Enogen grain delivered to the ethanol plant per the contract terms. For more information, please visit www.Enogen.net.
Enogen trait technology is helping to pave the way to a brighter energy future by improving ethanol production.
