Syngenta Thrive - 2Q/2013 - 9

says Bidner. “I want to make sure I’m putting fertilizer where it is needed, as
opposed to just blanket-spreading farms.”
He also has completed a number of conservation and irrigation system
improvements on his clients’ farms. “Brent carried out a drainage installation project that was very complicated,” says Joel Hertz, chairman of the
board emeritus for Hertz Farm Management. “It necessitated working with
about 16 different landowners and neighbors, but he facilitated the project
with ease and got the job done.”
To honor Bidner for his achievements, Syngenta made a $1,000
donation in his name to the ag-related cause of his choice—the 4-H
Memorial Camp in Monticello, Ill., the camp where his parents actually
met each other. He received the donation on behalf of the camp and an
honorary plaque at the 83rd Annual ASFMRA Convention in Indianapolis.
Syngenta also produced a video (www.youtube.com/syngentaagus) to
honor his accomplishments.
Call for 2013 Nominees
The search for the next Professional Farm Manager of the Year will
start in June when Syngenta begins accepting nominations. Given the
number of exceptional farm managers, determining one winner is never
an easy task, Rockers says.
“Professional farm managers are outstanding role models in
stewarding the land and deserve recognition for their contributions to
agriculture,” he says. “At Syngenta, our goal is to help farmers grow more
with less, and dedicated farm managers like Brent are key partners
working with us to accomplish the exact same thing for their clients.” To
