ContractsAwarded Ho Hum Year Looks to Military for Strong Finish September’s agency awards of $34.3 million brings the YTD total to $263,000,222 – a fraction of last year’s nine month total of $788,390,400, which was eventually to top $l billion by year’s end. That’s not likely to repeat itself in 2011 but don’t blame the military for not trying. Fourth quarter awards are expected to see invitations from Uncle Sam to bid on several high-end projects including two this month for Fort Shafter work: $25 million for a Child Development Center and $100 million for a command control facility. And in December, look for invitations to bid on a central vehicle wash facility at Schofield Barracks worth another $100 million. Maybe there is a future working at the car wash.
