Kiewit Building Group Relocates New diReCtoRs NAMed Kiewit Building Group has named new directors to its Hawaii management team. The firm hired Sharon Thom as director of preconstruction operations. With 11 years in construction, she is responsible for design-build and design-assist projects, business development, estimating and marketing. A 15-year construction industry veteran, Kamu Anderson was promoted from project executive to director of construction operations. In this new role, he is responsible for all construction projects and field operations. In another promotion, Sheri Mau was named director of administrative services and is responsible for human resources, quality control, compliance, finance and information technology. She previously served as area business manager. In addition, 30-year industry veteran Tom Broderick was named Kiewit’s director for the Honolulu Rail Transit maintenance and storage facility (MSF) construction project, a $195 million contract awarded by the City and County of Honolulu to Kiewit/Kobayashi, a joint venture. “This group of leaders will enhance our business operations and put us in a better position to compete and grow our business for years to come,” says Lance Wilhelm, senior vice president and Hawaii area manager. “They each bring a great deal of know-how to their respective roles. Moreover, this move brings more focus to our organization as we work to serve our clients more effectively.” Kiewit Building Group, Inc. relocated its offices to the Shops at Dole Cannery in January. The new space accommodates approximately 30 employees. The business office staff currently includes 20 employees, while approximately 30 engineers, designers and project superintendents work on-site at the company’s construction projects. “Our new quarters will provide the space we anticipate needing for future growth,” says Lance Wilhelm, senior vice president and Hawaii area manager. The new office space, managed by Castle & Cooke Commercial Inc., spans approximately 5,700 square feet over a two-floor loft. It incorporates recyclable materials and a modern design by WCIT Architecture. We mean business! POP Fishing and Marine & U.F.a.
