Attendees will appreciate the importance of early diagnosis of diseases linked to stem cells and their potential role in liver diseases and hepatocellular cancer. Recent studies suggest that hepatocellular cancers are difficult to treat because they arise from an expansion and transformation of progenitor cells or “cancer stem cells.” Researchers are working towards understanding and developing a strategy for early diagnosis and new therapeutics in stem cells in liver disease and cancer.
