Conference Facilities/Hotels: The Veracruz World Trade Center
is ideal for large congresses and trade shows. The 16th century San
Juan de Ulua Fortress, historic Veracruz railway station and the Xavier
Clavijero Theater are excellent meeting venues. The Galeria Plaza
Veracruz Hotel, Hotel Emporio, in the historic center and the seaside
Crowne Plaza and Fiesta Americana are popular hotel options.
Conference Facilities: The Hotel Victoria is a great venue for small
to mid-size international conventions. Unique and beautiful settings
to consider include the Cerro Del Fortin amphitheatre, Alvaro
Carillo Theater, the former Government Palace, the Santo Domingo
Convent Cultural Center, Guelaguetza auditorium and EthnoBotanical Gardens.
Dining/Culture: The Gran Café de la Parroquia is something of a
historical relic in Veracruz. Groups should definitely try local variations
of red snapper a la Veracruzana and spicy chilipachole seafood
soup. Join locals as they dance the rhythmic danzon to live bands in
the square and experience the Veracruz Carnival.
Dining/Culture: Oaxaca's ancestral dishes-including seven types
of mole-are found at La Casa de la Abuela, Los Pacos and El
Biche Pobre restaurants. Cooking classes with renowned chefs and
trips to the 20 de Noviembre Market add authenticity to meetings.
