The Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa Hyatt Weddings: Beachside to City Chic One of the most appealing vacation destinations in the country, Florida offers travelers a plethora of stunning beaches, exciting outdoor activities and wide range of cultural experiences. It’s these same things that also make the Sunshine State a top contender for couples planning a destination wedding, and with an array of destination wedding-ready properties throughout Florida, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts provides couples with a bevy of settings for their big day. Brides and grooms lusting for a romantic beach wedding have quite a few options under the Hyatt umbrella. At the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach, for instance, couples can host their ceremony right on the beach or at the onsite Sky Terrace, boasting impressive ocean views. “We believe our biggest appeal as a destination for weddings is being on Clearwater Beach with unparalleled views of the Gulf of Mexico,” says Andrea Honan, the hotel’s director of catering and convention services. “Brides continue to be wowed by our 16th floor Sky Terrace with panoramic views of the Gulf and the Intracoastal Waterway.” Receptions here also have the option of taking place on the Sky Terrace or indoors at the elegant 4,000-sq.-ft. Aqualea Ballroom. “We also offer our Belleair Room and adjoining Beach Club Lounge, my personal favorite, for weddings of up to 90 guests,” adds Honan. “This space features floor-to-ceiling windows with Gulf views, as well as a private terrace for guests.” The hotel’s condo-style accommodations, each with a fully equipped kitchenette, also offer the bride and groom and their guests a spacious “home-away-from-home” for pre- and post-wedding stays. In Bonita Springs near Naples, the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa boasts 26 acres overlooking the pristine Estero Bay Preserve, making it a standout choice for your client’s Florida beach wedding. The property, which was recently awarded Florida’s Green Lodging’s Three Palm eco-friendly certification, offers four distinct venues for wedding ceremonies and receptions. The Royal Palm Nautical Nuptials and Cypress Courtyards provide lush outdoor areas for celebrations of up to 1,000 guests, while the Calusa Ballroom and Terrace, which can accommodate up to 600 guests, is an ideal choice for an elegant sit-down dinner and reception. And with the hotel’s customizable Naples Wedding package, brides and grooms will receive all the essentials for their big day, including complimentary accommodations for the wedding night, champagne toast, wedding cake, table settings and more. Meanwhile, wedding guests can enjoy a variety of onsite amenities such as the 18-hole Raptor Bay Golf Club, the 19,000-sq.-ft. Stillwater Spa, outdoor pools and cabanas, and the four-diamond Tanglewood restaurant. Sarasota, a destination popular for its beautiful beaches, also draws plenty of destination weddings each year, and at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota, they know a thing or two about planning them. “Weddings comprise 30 percent of our catering and banquet business,” explains Minna Traugott, the property’s director of catering and convention services. “The hotel is a stunning facility with elegant tropical surroundings featuring a private 32-slip marina on Sarasota Bay and a lagoon swimming pool with cascading waterfalls.” Specifically designed for wedding ceremonies, the onsite Palm Terrace is an outdoor venue complete with a small raised stage and pergola surrounded by lush landscapes. “After the ceremony, couples can venture to the edge of the bay for spectacular wedding photos,” says Traugott. Other onsite wedding venues include the Tropics Room—sits up to 70 guests—with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lagoon pool and marina, and a pre-function space that’s ideal for cocktail hour. Traugott also notes, “The Boathouse, located in our marina and surrounded by water on three sides, makes a perfect venue for weddings of 100 to 250, while our Sarasota Ballroom can easily accommodate up to 500 guests.” Couples who enjoy the laid-back style of the Florida Keys can consider hosting their wedding day festivities at the Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa. This 118-room hotel set along Key West’s waterfront offers a blend of Old Florida architectural touches reminiscent of the Hemingway days, along with contemporary accommodations outfitted with all the musts. Wedding ceremonies here can take place right on the sand overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, while three bright and airy indoor ballrooms are available for receptions large or small.
