ORLANDO
Top Golf Orlando opened its 65,000-sf
venue last fall with more than 100 climatecontrolled hitting bays-a fun activity for
groups of all sizes. In the Disney Springs
entertainment complex, new openings in
2017 and 2018 include The Edison, themed
around a 1920s-era electric company,
Jaleo, a Spanish tapas concept, Wolfgang
Puck Bar & Grill, Wine Bar George, the only
master sommelier-led wine bar in Florida, and
Planet Hollywood, which reopened early last
year. Meeting planners can rent out Planet
Hollywood to accommodate everything from
semi-private events of 15 to full venue buyouts
of 1,100.
The 600-room Aventura Hotel at
Universal Orlando will open in August and
offer views of all three Universal theme
parks as well as a clean, modern style. It's

and citywide conventions. Disney's
Coronado Springs Resort, the largest of six
convention hotels at Walt Disney World
Resort, is building a new 15-story tower
that will add 500 new rooms to the resort,
including suites and concierge services.
The expansion includes a new rooftop
restaurant, a boardroom and two multipurpose rooms.
After three years, the Walt Disney
World Swan and Dolphin completed
a $140 million renovation of all 2,267
guest rooms and 332,000 sf of meeting
space. The new 2,800-sf Lake View space
features outdoor views of the resort's
private lake. The 187-room Margaritaville
Resort Orlando will open late this year
and include 30,000 sf of function space,
a wellness center and a dining and
entertainment district. Caribe Royale
All-Suite Hotel & Convention opened
its new Calypso's Pool Bar & Grille, a $3.5
million dining oasis featuring a "Floribbeanstyle" menu, specialty craft cocktails, a
recreation patio and entertainment. This
completes an $8 million refurbishment of
the hotel's restaurants and public areas.
Orlando's Rosen Hotels & Resorts
reopened the 18-hole Shingle Creek Golf
Course, a redesign by the Arnold Palmer
Design Company, and will be undergoing
a multimillion dollar refurbishment of its
1,501 rooms.
OCALA/MARION COUNTY
Known by horse enthusiasts, Ocala/Marion
is situated in the heart of Central Florida.
Groups can take advantage of its natural
wooded landscape on a series of trails
under development. The two-mile Osceola
Trak is a pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly
path that will connect Tuscawilla Park and
the Downtown Market. The first phase
