HOLLAND AMERICA + AMERICA'S TEST KITCHEN
Groups hitting the waves with Holland America Line can look
forward to a special treat: the shipboard Culinary Arts Centers
have been transformed into television sets broadcasting the
popular television show "America's Test Kitchen." The shows,
hosted by Holland America Line chefs, can be seen on more than
350 public television stations nationwide.
The culinary experience can be connected with Holland
America's destinations. For example, during a celebration of the
line's 70th anniversary in Alaska, a highlight was the "Every Salmon"
shipboard cooking show, where attendees selected and prepared
the Alaskan catch. On the beverage side, they enjoyed a midnight

sun cocktail created by HAL's Master Mixologist Dale DeGroff.
There are also new shipboard cooking demonstrations
and 90-minute workshops available to attendees-everything
from shaping Asian dumplings to making the perfect pie crust-
following the same science-based approach as the show.
"The mission of 'America's Test Kitchen' is to determine the
best methods, ingredients and cooking tools-and now these
discoveries will be shared with our guests," says Orlando Ashford,
president of Holland America Line.
