helicopter ride over the Canadian Rockies
followed by a cliffside yoga session? Or
stir your group's spirit of adventure with a
Utah ranching experience? The options for
mountain meetings are almost as limitless
as the sprawling scenery.
COLORADO
Set to open late 2018 in Aurora, Colo., the
Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention
Center will offer over 1,500 guest rooms,
including 114 suites. The property is
conveniently located just minutes from
Denver International Airport.
"Our convenient location and
immersive lodge-inspired environments
are balanced by sophisticated dining, a
luxurious spa and abundant recreation,"
says Michael Kofsky, director of sales and
marketing for Gaylord Rockies Resort and
Convention Center. "Our team of seasoned
experts meticulously craft meeting
experiences with your business outcomes
in mind."
The resort will offer 485,000 sf
of flexible meeting space, including a
175,000-sf exhibit hall with a 20,000-sf
outdoor patio, as well as four ballrooms,
up to 81 breakout rooms and five outdoor
event spaces. Its eight dining outlets
will include Asian fusion and seasonally
inspired Italian cuisine as well as the
Old Hickory Steakhouse, specializing in
premium Black Angus beef and fresh
seafood. A sprawling pool complex will
feature a family lagoon, waterslide, lazy
river and private cabanas.
ALBERTA, CANADA
There's no better time to meet in Alberta
than 2017, as Canada is offering free
admission to all of its National Parks in
celebration of its 150th anniversary. Groups
can explore Banff National Park, Jasper
National Park, Waterton National Park, Elk
Island National Park and Wood Buffalo
National Park-all for free.
For an adventurous team building
experience, consider Mount Norquay in
Banff's own Via Ferrata, where climbing
gear is built right into the mountain. The
challenge offers stunning views and a
unique perspective on the landscape for
all climbing levels. Heli-yoga or heli-hiking
takes attendees via helicopter to some
of the wildest and highest locations in
Banff National Park for a wilderness trek
or serene yoga session with sweeping
mountain views.
