Resort Orlando breaking
ground this year and the
rebranding of resorts in Missouri and Costa
Rica, it's clear that the Margaritaville state of
mind is catching on among meetings and
incentives groups. And it doesn't stop there.

The Margaritaville Key West Resort &
Marina has introduced three new upgrade
options for groups meeting at the property.
"Vitamin D Break" provides an alternative to
the traditional coffee service, while helping
attendees jump-start their meeting with a
dose of vitamin D. The beverage service can
be booked in a variety of locations, such
as the resort pier and marina walkway, and
includes freshly squeezed tropical juices,
fruit-infused water and more. Another
upgrade option is the resort's signature
H2Ospitality Suites, which allow planners to
organize their events on a yacht accessible
from the resort's 37-slip marina. The third
upgrade is a range of "Sun & Sea" venue
options designed to help groups maximize
their time outdoors.

Currently in its soft opening phase, the
Margaritaville Beach Resort Grand Cayman
is getting an additional 4,000+ sf of function
space next February. Engaging team
building activities such as cooking classes
where resort chefs offer behind-the-scenes
workshops to small groups, and beach
clean up programs in partnership with local
charities, are also available to meetings and
incentives groups.
"The overall atmosphere and location
of the resort makes it ideal for groups,"
says Diandra Shand, director of sales and
marketing. "Being ideally located at the

This November marks the two-year
anniversary for this property, and new
team building programs are kicking off the
celebration. During the "Scavenger Hunt
Challenge," groups are divided into teams
and then race around the resort taking
photos and searching for Jimmy Buffett's
song lyrics. The "FlowRider Challenge,"
offers an individual challenge to attendees
on the beachfront FlowRider Double surf
machine. David Margolis, director of group
sales, says there's another side of the resort
that planners should know about.
"A big focus of the resort from the start,
and something we'll be expanding on next
year, is sustainability. Aside from caring about
the environment, we also want groups and
meeting planners to feel good about where
they stay. Currently, we recycle our paper,
cardboard and guest room soap. By the end
of this year, we'll be recycling glass and plastic
as well. In addition, we participate with Food
Rescue, which donates left over banquet
food to the Jubilee Center of South Broward
County, which is a local non-profit agency that
