pool tables and jukeboxes. The brick- and graffiti art-accented
building promises an over-the-top cocktail menu, an ocean-facing
outdoor beer garden where attendees can enjoy the ocean breeze,
and an inflatable movie screen for special events, live music and
sporting events. Street fairs, pop-up art exhibitions and festivals will
eventually be woven into the mix.
AC's open, all-inclusive arms to diversity also position it as a
top destination for multicultural meetings. "We have the only African
heritage museum in New Jersey," Musich says, "and we're pretty
well-known for our cultural experiences."
One of the latest projects to testify to AC's resilience is the
reimaging of the currently vacant Atlantic Club Casino Hotel on the
Boardwalk into a 100,000-sf indoor waterpark and hotel. The timing
around this project is still being determined.

FLORIDA
In South Florida, connectivity is fostering community engagement
and shared value. The latest attribute to the regard is the highspeed Brightline inter-city train service. In phase one, Brightline will
connect Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, and Orlando
will be added to the mix in phase two. The trains, equipped with
free WiFi, unload passengers in the heart of the action and/or within
walking distance to the most popular attractions. Groups using this
service can hop on bikes on arrival to explore the cities thanks to

bike sharing docks at the stations or utilize ride sharing programs.
Bill Talbert, president and CEO of the Greater Miami Convention
& Visitors Bureau, says Brightline not only helped the city win
the Superbowl 2020 bid, but will expand the possibilities for one of
the biggest cultural events of the year, Art Basel. "We just won a
10-year contract for this, which is a pretty big deal considering Art
Basel is one of the most well-known international art festivals in the
world for modern and contemporary art. It certainly solidifies us as a
cultural destination."
Just outside of Orlando in Cape Canaveral, groups are
exploring another side of Florida's culture at the Kennedy Space
Center Visitor Complex. Here, wining and dining beneath the
colossal space shuttle Atlantis and mega Saturn V moon rocket,
some of the most powerful ever built, reflects the state's history with
inspiration and innovation. Veteran NASA astronauts can be booked
for lectures and attendees can participate in private astronaut
training experiences and team building exercises that replicate real
space shuttle missions in a full-scale mission control. The complex
offers on-site catering and two conference facilities.
