The MGM Grand Las Vegas Conference
Center is expanding the possibilities for
meetings with the addition of 250,000 sf
(for a total of more than 850,000 sf). By
the end of next year, the center will have a
new 5,500-sf outdoor courtyard, 49,000-sf
ballroom and 32,000-sf ballroom, and Stay
Well Meetings will encompass the center's
entire second floor.
"The expansion of Stay Well
Meetings, along with our 340 Stay Well
accommodations, allows MGM Grand to offer
a completely unique destination to groups that
carries through the entire resort experience-
from the board room to the guest room," says
Ernest Stovall, VP of sales.
Prevue will use the Stay Well
Conference Center and guest rooms
January 27 to 29 next year for MeetWell,
the industry's leading conference focused
on integrating wellness into meetings
and events, held in collaboration with the
Incentive Research Foundation.
Meanwhile, the vibe at Park MGM will
be one of understated luxury much like you
would find in a home in the South of France.
Thoughtfully curated, attendees will find a
warm environment with cozy sofas, shelves
lined with hardcover books and art galore.
"This was an opportunity to reenvision
Monte Carlo to complement the new

neighborhood featuring the T-Mobile Arena
and The Park," says Mike Dominguez,
MGM's senior VP and chief sales officer. The
goal: to create "a sense of romance and
discovery and a personal service style."
Rather than tearing down the Monte
Carlo Resort, MGM Resorts, in partnership
with the Sydell Group, chose to renovate,
"keeping its roots intact" instead. That
mission is exemplified by a dramatic tree
trunk sculpture that's the focal point of the
lobby, organically winding its age-old limbs
across the ceiling.
The Park MGM project will also include
a hotel within the hotel, The NoMad Las
Vegas, adding 292 rooms to the Park
MGM's 2,700. A new 77,000-sf conference
center will include the city's first Executive
Meeting Center and Ideation Labs, both
designed for small group brainstorming. A
highlight here will be the 4,345-sf Central
Park Terrace for outdoor functions. One floor
of Park MGM's guest rooms will be Stay
Well rooms, and the conference center will
incorporate Stay Well features as well. Park
MGM is expected to be completed by the
end of next year.

RENO
In Reno, The 1,635-room Peppermill
Resort Spa Casino is meetings-ready
with 106,000 sf of event space, including
an elegant boardroom and the newly
renovated Capri Ballroom, which now has
a new carpet, walls and ceilings, as well as
a decorative succulent wall. The resort's
Terrace Lounge features a large circular bar
for networking, (one of nine restaurants and
16 bars) and a Mediterranean-style spa.

Seated Dinners
"We are a modern
steakhouse with a
contemporary menu at
a very approachable price," says
Melody Han, general manager.
"For groups of up to 350, we
can arrange a buyout where
attendees are seated indoors
and outdoors on our patio.
Smaller groups of up to 40 can
experience seated dinners in our
private dining room."

Stand-Up Receptions
With floor-to-ceiling
windows and views of
the Bellagio Fountains
at night, the indoor-outdoor
flow of HEXX is very attractive
for stand-up receptions, and
HEXX can host a buyout for
group of up to 430 for cocktails
and small bites. A private dining
room hosts groups of up to 50.

Chocolate Experience
Groups of up to eight
can have a tasting
experience with a
knowledgeable chocolatier,
and HEXX can rotate the
experience every half hour
to an hour, depending on the
number in the group. Planners
can also book 40+ people
at one time to experience
the "Hexx Chocolate Buffet"
in the private dining room
where there will be multiple
"chocolate hosts" that share
the origins of the chocolate
samplings (there are 12
different chocolate
samples to be had from six
different countries).
