Silversea Cruises
A new ultra-luxury, all-suite ship is the ninth in the Silversea fleet

Pool deck on the Silver Muse

T

he 596-passenger Silver Muse can
access secluded harbors that other
ships can't, and the ship's inaugural
season through the Mediterranean showed
off this ability. This month, it makes its
first Trans-Atlantic crossing from England
to Canada, before sailing down to Fort
Lauderdale and embarking on a series of
South American voyages for the remainder
of the year. All-in-all, it will call at 34 countries
and 130 ports this year.
"Silversea offers smaller, more
intimate ships ideal for full ship charters,"
says Freddy Muller, VP of corporate and
incentive sales, Americas. "Ships range
from 50 suites up to just under 300. Our
all-inclusive concept includes all meals, port
charges, gratuities, fine wines and spirits. In
addition, meeting planners will appreciate
that all meeting space, breakout, cocktail
receptions and audio-visual capabilities will
not cost them a dime."
With butler service for every suite,
customized spa treatments, an in-suite bar
stocked with personal drink preferences and
mattress and pillow options, the Silver Muse
aims to provide intimate luxury. In addition
to featuring the only Relais & Chateaux
restaurant at sea, the ship brings three
new ones to the fleet: Atlantide, Indochine
and Spaccanapoli.

"Silversea is always reinventing the
luxury cruise segment," says Muller. "We
offer an array of destinations that maximize
time in some of the most sought-after
and unique destinations. We are also the
pioneers in luxury expedition cruising,
offering dedicated meeting planners to
operate and partner with planners of all
experience levels."

Enriching Experiences
Silversea's 2017 enrichment programs have
invited a number of cultural experiences on
board various ships: opera-themed cruises
with soloists from the Academy of Lyric
Opera, ballet cruises featuring the acclaimed
Russian ballet soloists Daria Khokhlova and
Artemy Belyakov, and culinary and wine
voyages with on board tastings, cooking
demonstrations and classes, market visits,
gala dinners and shore excursions.
"Silversea also has the great fortune
of being able to position our ship for world
sporting events," says Muller. "The ship was

used as a floating hotel, which allowed for
endless customization along with security for
all guests onboard. With the size of our ships,
we can call in many destinations where our
friendly competitors will simply not fit."
A range of wellness-themed
programming throughout 2017 offers
complimentary yoga and Pilates classes
to attendees, as well as daily lectures and
cooking demonstrations. Gym sessions
led by personal trainers are also included,
along with a choice of a complimentary spa
massage treatment.
"Our destination team will assist in
creating unique and private tours in over
400 destinations around the world," adds
Muller. "These excursions can lead them to
scavenger hunts through Venice or private
beach Olympics in Virgin Gorda. The majority
of our business relies on full ship charters.
This allows an organization to be as creative
as they want to be when it comes to on
board programing, branding and activities."
The Silver Muse will continue to "wow"
groups throughout 2018, as attendees fall
under the magical spell of South America
and some of its most culturally enriching
destinations. Grand Voyage 2018 will
combine immersive excursions such as a
three-day stopover in Rio de Janeiro just in
time for Carnival and overnights in the heart
of the Amazon with an intimate and elegant
luxury experience. Groups can also expect
plenty of local entertainment, guest chefs,
cooking demonstrations, wine tastings
and locally sourced specialties: Ecuador's
Nacional cacao, Chile's Merken chili
peppers and sugarcane from Brazil.
